Police are looking for an alleged armed robbery suspect involving a hostage

SALT LAKE CITY – Police are searching for a man who, according to Salt Lake City police, allegedly robbed the Salt Lake City Walgreens on Sunday and held the customer hostage.

Police responded to the store at 531 E. 400 South at 1:51 p.m.

Police said the employee handed the man an “undisclosed amount in cash” and then the man released the customer and fled.

The police did not manage to find the man after the subsequent search. Police said they were looking for a white man around 30 or 40 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and light. According to the press release, he should also wear a blue mask, a red shirt with black long sleeves and jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call 801-799-3000 and enter case number 22-5124.
