Biden, Obama was waiting at the memorial to the late Senate leader Harry Reid
President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama and other prominent Democrats will pay tribute to Harry Reid on Saturday at a memorial event in Nevada, the home state of the former Senate majority leader. Reid, considered one of Washington’s most powerful Democrats, died late last month at the age of 82 after battling pancreatic cancer. Biden, who served alongside Reid in the upper house for 22 years and later worked with him when he was vice president, is ready to make remarks. Obama is also expected to give Reid’s mourning speech. The pair worked together to approve the former president’s signature on the Health Act.
Another cancellation due to COVID-19
Royal Caribbean International announced on Friday that it would suspend operations on several ships due to COVID-19 and cancel some departures from this weekend. The passengers concerned will have “possibilities of compensation”, including full compensation. Royal Caribbean is not the only cruise company to cancel departures due to the increase: Norwegian Cruise Line canceled cruises on eight of its ships on Wednesday. While most cruises have still not been canceled, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week did not recommend cruises. The agency noted that the decision was made as COVID-19 cases on ships in the US and around the world increased.
Elvis Presley fans celebrate his birthday at Graceland
Elvis Presley will celebrate his 87th birthday on Saturday. The late “King of Rock and Roll” died in 1977 at the age of 42. Every year, fans gather at his Graceland headquarters in Memphis to celebrate his life. As usual, Graceland and Elvis Presley Enterprises will commemorate his birthday with several days of events, reflections and concerts. Some pre-birthday celebrations have come and gone, but Presley’s widow Priscilla Presley is expected to cut a cake in honor of his birthday that morning.

Golden globes are still happening … sort of
The Association of Foreign Journalists in Hollywood, flooded with recent criticism and scandal, continues to present the 2022 Golden Globe Awards, although you will not be able to watch it. It will not be broadcast or streamed after the resistance against HFPAshow this Sunday and the stars are not expected to be present at the ceremony. Instead, a scaled-down presentation announcing this year’s Golden Globes film and television winners will be unveiled on Sunday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, with the winners announced from 9:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM PT. The ceremony, which will also highlight HFPA’s philanthropic efforts, will not have a live audience due to the recent rise in coronavirus cases in the United States.
A clown party? Frustrated Jaguars fans plan to wear costumes during the game
The fans are rioting against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the owners of the Shada Khan team are in the spotlight. Hundreds, if not thousands, turned their profile photos on social media into a clown wearing Khan’s characteristic mustache, and the clowns’ emoticons responded to every Jaguars post. They plan to wear clown costumes this Sunday when the team hosts the Indianapolis Colts. News: General Manager Fire Trent Baalke, whose reputation and repeated mistakes have been under scrutiny since announcing he will be retained in 2022 and will help the team find a new coach. The umbrella company is suing for its name to be removed from the matchup to avoid “being stressed as the primary sponsor of the clown game.”
