MURRAY – An overturned semi-trailer blocked several southern lanes of I-15 near 4000 South in Murray, with the accident causing minor injuries and long delays on Friday.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. According to initial information from the Utah Highway Patrol, a flat tire may be to blame, causing the trailer to hit the wall and overturn. Soldiers on the spot reported minor injuries, UHP said in a tweet.

The right five lanes of I-15 were closed at 3900 South in Murray, and officials told drivers to expect long delays and use an alternative route.

UDOT tweeted after 9:30 pm that the accident was cleared and all lanes were reopened.
