Health insurance companies will now cover the costs of home tests for COVID

From Saturday, private health insurers will be required to pay up to eight domestic COVID-19 tests per month for people with their schedule. Under the new policy, Americans will be able to either purchase home test kits for free under their insurance or submit test bills for redemption. PCR tests and rapid tests ordered or managed by the healthcare provider will continue to be fully covered by the insurance company without restriction. The next step to help Americans gain access to the tests will be launched by the federal government on Wednesday, which will begin making 500 million COVID-19 domestic tests available by mail. The administration is also expanding rapid testing hotspots in the areas with the largest increase in cases.
